The Annual Lincoln Open Rodeo falls on the weekend closest to the Independence Holiday every year and the town kicks off the festivities with a parade through town.

As one of the few open rodeos left in the state it provides an opportunity for young cowboys to build their credentials and for more experienced riders to pick up a few extra rides during the "cowboy Christmas" season that centers around the Fourth of July.

For kids the Rodeo offers a greased pig chase, a boot race and a chicken chase. Stout hearted adults can test their resolve and their agility by entering the Ring of Fire to see who can last longest in the ring against a loose bull.
